ACCESS to CIRCO MASSIMO
The entrance to the Circo Massimo area is free and allowed up to the maximum limit allowed by the security provisions.
The public can access the Circo Massimo area by five gates (see the map):
- via San Teodoro / via dei Cerchi
- via della Greca
- two gates on Piazza di Porta Capena
- piazzale Ugo La Malfa.
For people with disabilities, with document certifying the invalidity, an area is foreseen at the Belvedere Romolo and Remo on via del Circo Massimo, access is subject to availability. Access is from via delle Terme Deciane. Carers can park the car, dedicated parking is available in front of the square Ugo La Malfa. Access is subject to availability,
Inside the Circus Maximus area it is forbidden to sell and transport bottled drinks or glass containers.
HOW TO REACH THE PLACES OF THE FESTA
We advise attendees to use the underground, exit at Circo Massimo station.
METRO A, B/B1, C and ROMA-LIDO lines are open until 3.30 am on 1 January.
On January 1, the service will start at 8 with holidays schedule on the entire network.
From 3.30 am to 8 am you can use the night bus lines N1 (Battistini-Anagnina), N2 (Laurentina-Rebibbia); N2L (Termini-Conca d’Oro) N28 (San Giovanni-Pantano) on the same routes as the metro lines.
For the Roma-Lido railways, and the Flaminio-Montebello urban line, the last departure from the terminus is at 3.30am on January 1st.
The service on the Termini-Centocelle railway stops at 9pm. Bus line N3 (Piazza Venezia-stazione Colombo) will replace the Rome-Lido railway line, from 3.30 am to 8 am.
The service on bus lines H – 2 – 128 – 170 – 200 – 280 – 301 – 336 – 544 – 766 – 881 – 905 will also be extended up to 3.30 am.
The N6 night line will be active from 9pm to 3.30am (all the other bus lines will stop the service at 9pm)

You can reach Lungotevere through Piramide and Circo Massimo underground stations (Linea B) and tram 8 line to access the Festival area.

- Basamento Aventino (for those coming from the Giardino degli Aranci)

- three entrances to the Giardino degli Aranci: piazza P. D’Illiria, via di S. Sabina, Basamento Aventino
For those who want to travel by car on January 1st
Ponte Sublicio and Ponte Garibaldi will be accessible by private means. Ponte Sublicio will be passable in both directions (fast bus lane open to private cars), Viale Trastevere will be accessible by car from Via Girolamo Induno and Largo Ascianghi as an alternative to the Lungotevere closed for the event)
