The PMCE, directed by Maestro Tonino Battista in the formation of the double quintet, pays tribute to one of the fathers of minimal music, Steve Reich, through the execution of his 2×5 lasting about 25 minutes which is performed three times.
The piece, which faces two quintets each composed of two electric guitars, an electric bass, a keyboard and a drums, is executed in a very spectacular form. The two quintets are placed each on a façade of two buildings facing each other: the musicians will make their appearance through the windows of the buildings, while the director, at the centre of the road, is brought to the height of the musicians by an elevator.
The last performance is the musical base for acrobatic choreography.
