Andrea Rivera

Andrea Rivera began his artistic career on the streets and in the bars of Rome, where he spent a long time performing his improvised theatrical songs filled with social commentary. In the years that followed, his work earned him widespread acclaim and won him one of Italy’s premier cultural awards, the Gaber Prize. As one of Italian theatre’s most celebrated satirists, Andrea Rivera uses Rome dialect in his work, employing surreal wordplay to create new words and rework old ones.
